Incredible service from Sarah and Jaime. We stayed in March Room and it was wonderful. Perfect size for a couple. Very quaint and love the location. Walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!
Incredible stay at Book & Table inn! The owners were so friendly, the place was so cute & kept extremely clean! Would definitely recommend this to anyone passing through, or looking for a weekend away
Spent one night at this marvelous Inn!! Wonderful best describes it. Location, cleanliness, and rates are all the best! We parked the car and never got back in it until it was time to leave. Walk downtown Valdosta! Several wine bars and nice restaurants!!
Needed an overnight place to stop on our way back to Atlanta. Very satisfactory. Attached to a nice wine restaurant.
The History of The Cranford
The site of the Cranford Building originally housed a wooden stable owned by the Jones and Roberts Company. In 1895, John T. Roberts, his brother B. H. Roberts, and Thomas G. Cranford formed a partnership to create a mercantile stock business, leading to the construction of the Roberts Building on West Hill Avenue. Following a fire in 1901 that destroyed the adjacent wooden stable, the company, now including J. Alex Dasher, built a new three-story brick structure known as the Cranford Building, completed by 1905. Over the years, the building served various purposes, including housing a soda fountain, telegraph office, movie theater, and a meeting space for the Valdosta Elks Lodge. It continued to accommodate retail shops and commercial businesses throughout much of the 20th century, including the famous Sportsman Club, a popular pool hall and eatery from 1954 through the 1980s.
West Hill Avenue Properties, LLC purchased the Cranford Building in September 2007. The building underwent years of painstaking renovation to preserve its history while adding modern amenities that complement its character. The finished result is a preserved landmark within the Downtown Valdosta skyline that houses 11 apartments full of historic charm and modern finishes, along with 3 commercial spaces still serving the community to this day.
